Kinetics of Bioremediation of Oil Contaminated Water Dispersed by Environment-Friendly Bacteria (<i>Pseudomonas aeruginosa</i>) and Fungi (<i>Aspergillus niger</i>)

The comparative effectiveness of remediating water polluted with crude oil, using environment-friendly bacteria (Pseudomonas aeruginosa) and fungi (Aspergillus niger) were investigated. samples separately treated Aspergillus niger Pseudomonas aeruginosa. bioremediation kinetic efficiency for these systems was studied. At the end periods, oil grease content decreased from 47.0 mg/L in untreated sample to 7.0 after 20 days when inoculated while 10.0 mg/L. Post analysis showed a fall value biological oxygen demand (BOD) 73.84 33.28 days, while, reduction 38.48 biodegradation process consistent pseudo-first-order model rate constant 0.0891 day-1, first order reaction 0.422 day-1. degree degradation 20th day inoculation aeruginosa 85.11%, 78.72%. Thus, results obtained that, performed better than niger. data fitted first-order model, that model. Therefore, this study could be applied design system potential application remediation water.
